Options. Different sizes, same price. I like it.

It seems funny to me that a 20 oz drink cost you the same price as a 2 litter. I've noticed that many items in stores cost nearly the same price, but what you choose to get for that price differs greatly. Why would anyone logic person purchase something that is smaller, when for the same price as the smaller item then can get a larger one.

Two factors cause this: First you have the convince factor, and second is the placement of the items within stores. I buy smaller items all the time. I'm in the store and I want a drink and I see the smaller drink in the front of the store and I grab one. Not thinking about it I purchase it, drink it, and I'm done with it. I could always go and get a larger drink in the back for the same price, but I don't because the smaller size is convenient, and the larger size is located in the back of the store. That means I would have to go the back of the store to get it (lazy huh, but we all do it).

This could have a positive effect by being smaller. This means less sugar, fat, and calories, but it also means a negative impact on my wallet. Fast food would never have survived if we were all logical. Why would I go get a 12 oz blizzard when I could go get a half gallon of ice cream and candy for the same price. Luckily I can ignore the logical side of life and do what I want even if I know I can get a different size for the same price. It's nice to have someone make something else for me, or to have something in a convenient size.

I found this quote on the Internet today and thought it was pretty funny. Zig Ziglar, who is a self-help author and speaker, said: Many marriages would be better if the husband and wife clearly understood that they're on the same side.

I wonder if he had to self teach himself this one. :)

Thursday Comic

After being woken up in the middle of the night, Curtis is told that he must go into enemy territory and disable his defenses.

The enemy was awake and ready, and he had prepared for the attack. In order to stop Curtis he laid down hundreds of land mines.

Being extremely skilled and one of the best soldiers, Curtis was able to disable the enemy and all of his defenses. He only had one causality. One of the larger land mines blew up and lucky only left him with a flesh wound.

Sellout!

I was listening to some music from a couple of bands a few years back and I remember hearing people calling these bands sellouts. Why did they call these bands sellouts, and how did they sellout. While I was listening to these bands music and their music I used to enjoy, I changed the song. Why did I do this if I once liked their music so much. I did it because I didn't enjoy that same type of music today.

Why do you think bands change their music style from Cd to Cd. They do it because the very nature of music changes between Cd's. Of course people might call them sellout because they changed, but who is it that really sells them out. Do they sellout, or is it us selling them out because music changed since their last album. Would we still buy their Cd if they released the exact same music as there last album. Music is their business and in order to stay at the top they must change what they do. The rock genre hasn't changed names in the last five years, but there is a complete difference between the bands there five years ago and the bands today.

No one is selling out, they are just trying to stay on top of a shifting market where the same music that was sold yesterday won't sale today. There are no sellouts, just people wanting different types of music in at different times. Nothing is constant. When change is presented to you don't accuse someone of changing in order for to succeed, because if that is the case then we are all guilty of such charges. If changing means success, then we are all sellouts.

The things that Dreams are made of.

What are dreams made of, sugar and spice and everything nice. No that's something different. What are dreams? Dreams are pieces of reality, but are not in reality. Have you ever tried to explain to someone what your dream was about and what happened in it. Probably. Did they understand you, and could they actually visualize what you were telling them. Most likely not. I think the reason why we can't express ourselves very well in what happened in our dreams is because we are logical and for the most part dreams aren't.

Dreams do not go from point A to point B and then back to Point C. In a dream you start on the outside of point A then move towards point B only to see your mother driving down the road in a refrigerator. Its when you try and explain where the refrigerator came from, which came out of nowhere, that you understand why it's hard to get other people to understand your dreams. In your mind your dream makes perfect sense, but on paper you might as well be in a padded room.

So when you try and understand what dreams are made of, you might more readily come to the conclusion of what are they not made of. Pieces of your life in which events and physics have no real grasp in life, and because they are something different they allow you to go into a world different from the one you live in every day. Dreams are the hopes and ideas of the future. The good, the bad, and the strange. The ability to experience life in no other way but in a place void of reality. Where flying, falling off a cliff, and your mother in a refrigerator is possible. Let your dreams tonight take you to a place where you've never gone before, but just remember to keep them to yourself. Explaining them may get you into a padded room after all.

Power: The Formula to Create Mr Hyde

Is it just me, or is there one to many people in places of power that don't know how to use it. It seems to happen quite a bit at work. Granted the people who I currently work with are pretty good at what they do, but it's the people that substitute for them that show their Mr Hyde when they're in charge. These people are fine to talk to and be around, but as soon as they're in charge they meta morph into someone totally different.

Why is it that most times in life those who have power don't know how to use it, and those who do know how don't have it. This happens all the time. Either people get power and become complete idiots, or being an idiot is the base job requirement to move up. I'm definitely not saying that this happens with everyone, but it seems to occur more than I would like it to. Power will do one of two things, it will either show us your greatest failures or show us your greatest potential. Lets hope it's the latter.

My Day (Saturday)

1. I decided to eat more sugar, because while I was eating breakfast I saw that it was the first ingredient in cereal and so it must be part of a healthy meal.
2. Had to sit down for a minute because I was light headed and dizzy from a sugar buzz.
3. Called my home with a bomb threat for fun, but forgot they had caller id.
4. Talked to an elevator rep to see how much it would cost to put an elevator in our two story home.
5. Decided that burnable Cd's made good Frisbees.
6. Went to the hospital with my brother to get stitches in his hand from a Cd.
7. Watched a grandpa going thirty five hit a five mile and hour speed bump. Didn't know Cadillacs could get so much air.
8. Tried to figure out how everyones gaining weight if all the food in the stores say fat free.
9. Almost went to wash my car, but decided that it would probably rain tonight if I did.
10. Ate cereal for dinner.
