Am I sick enough to miss work?

That seems to be the question I always ask my self when feel sick. I'm sick or not, right? Wrong, sickness seems to come in two degrees. Either I feel so sick that my entire day is gone and my best friend is the toilet, or I just feel like crap and still have to go do everything I normally would. Neither of these sicknesses are great, but if I had to pick one I would rather be completely sick. Why would I choose this option. I would choose it because not matter how crappy I feel, I know I'm going to hit a point where I no longer feel sick, and I know from then on I'm going to start feeling better. Its nice to know the feeling of what healthy is. I forget how nice it is to be healthy until I'm hugging the toilet for a day. So if I have to ask the question, "I'm sick enough to miss work", I hope it's yes.

Why do I go to school again?

I went to school today for three hours. This is my third semester in college and definitely not my last. I finally bought all of the school supplies I needed (ie books, parking passes, paper, and pens). It seems to me thought that the person who really makes the class what it is, is the teacher. It doesn't matter what class I take whether I like it or not, if I have an awesome teacher then I like the class and do well in it. On the other hand if the teacher is uninterested in what they teach I find it extremely hard to concentrate on whats being taught. Sure I can always like it even if the teacher sucks, but they can help bring interest to where there is none. Attitude seems to be everything. I goto school to learn, and to get that piece of paper that allows me to make more then minimum wage. Learnings fine, but it's sure a lot easier when the professor thats teaching cares about what they are teaching and want you to feel that same excitement.

Honestly Stop! Life's too short.

Honestly, stop your winning self pitying comparing negative all about me attitude. Grow up and realize that life's not fair, and nor will it ever be. Just because one person gets something you don't doesn't in the least part of a millionth make you entitled to the same. If life's given you a hand of crap cards don't mope around in disappear. Who are you to say that life dealt you crap. How can you even know what the person next to you has, not all problems are on the surface. You need to realize no one has a perfect life. Deal with what you've got and make something of it. There is a reason that some people are liked more then others. People like you when you don't concentrate on yourself. Stop being the person that always gets picked on. All your doing is causing others to pick up your same attitude towards you. The only person you can truly affect is yourself. No one can control what you do, all then can do is try and block you. Granted some blocks block most your choices, but you still always have a choice. If you want to figure something out research search it, if you want to get to the top work your way up, and if you want to have a happy and successful life then DO WHAT IT TAKES. Life's to short to be someone that everyones sick of.

Insurance, who is it really for?

It would be nice to think that the bigger people are always looking out for smaller ones, but this is usually not the case. In the United States it is almost mandatory that we have some form of insurance. Why is it that we have to have insurance? We have to have insurance to cover the five hundred dollar bill they send us to visit the doctor just to get a referral for a specialist, we have to have insurance to cover the nine hundred dollars it cost to remove an ingrown toenail, and we have to have insurance because for certain activities it's a law.

We can understand why we have to have insurance, but still the question is present who is insurance really for. Insurance is a business. People sell it. Anything that is a business is meant to make money. In this country, did it some how work out that insurance companies made sure that they were needed and created a demand. Did they changed the economy of our nation to require insurance, and for what, only to make money. Insurance can come in handy, but couldn't the problem with having to have insurance also be solved with. I would say that there's a good chance it could.

The mystery of music.

Music for me is one of two things. It is either just notes and words put together in an interesting melody, or it's the ability to pull me out of reality and take me to a different state of mind. I hope you don't get the idea that I go into a trace and become unresponsive, but what some music can do is take my thoughts and alter them slightly. Most songs, I hear, do absolutely nothing more then give me simple enjoyment, but they're those very few that have an effect on me. Does this effect happen because of where I heard the song first, is it because of some emotion linked to the song, or has the song come to mean more to me then notes and words. I don't know. Do artist write music merely for peoples enjoyment, or do they put blood, sweet, tears, and themselves into their work. I don't know, but for whatever reason they write music I'm glad. I'm glad that there are those few songs that have more of an effect on me then three minutes of noise. This is the mystery of music, how it has the power to take you where you normally can't go.

Holidays, Sweet!

It's nice to have a holiday every once in a while. Life just doesn't have enough weekends. Some jobs, namely banks and governments, have a more liberal definition of what a holiday is. They seem to close on any day that is more important then national school bus day, or celebrate fast food careers. What does this mean for you and me. It means that we're probably at the wrong job. Why not get into a career that pays you for every holiday that comes along. You never know, as soon as national school bus day gets popular enough you'll probably get that off too. Have a great labor day, and why not find a new job. Aaron
