Content - Desiring no more than what one has; satisfied

The world with all it's advertising, fast-paced activities, and the constant urgency to move, it's rare to see contentment. To feel absolutely satisfied with life. To be happy with the current situation without wanting change. The the feelings that everyone searches for, but never seems to completely have. It would be nice to continually be content, but life changes and contentment flees.

Contentment comes in short burst. Driving in the car, sitting and relaxing in the sun, and being around those you love. Feeling, at that moment, that if it all ended right now I would be happy. The feeling of not wanting anymore and being perfectly happy with what you have. It happens, and when it does I relax, enjoy, and am grateful I can feel content for now.

Watch for falling prices

I don't understand why people still download music illegally when the price for unlimited music is five bucks a month. I really don't think that five dollars a month is too much to ask for. You say you can't afford five dollars a month? You need that extra Big Mac combo? Honestly, those don't even qualify as excuses. The only complaint I can see is that you can't burn the music to cd's, but they make it possible to buy a device for less than a hundred that can take music anywhere. Sometimes companies are being unreasonable. This is not one of those times.

If only life was more like movies.

If only life was more like movies. If only a quarter inch of car seat fabric could stop a blazing piece of lead traveling at 900 mph. If only people could meet each other for the first time and talk as if they had been lifetime friends. In only the world had a different treasure map and a different treasure to find for everyday of the week. If only we had secret identities. If only we could fly, see through walls, and save the world. If only life was more like the movies, would we then watch movies of us?

Life's Random.

On that basis, that life's random, then this random post should be considered normal. On the basis that this post - should be considered random - is normal, then anything that's normal should be considered random. Life's random and therefor anything that doesn't happen as planned is normal. For example, you have an appointment you have to be to. On the way to the appointment you leave on time, you hit every green light, and there isn't any traffic the entire way. That's random.

Right there is the basis to my post. It would be more random for everything to happen as it's supposed to then for things to happen as they actually do. What normally happens - which we say is random - is you get stuck in traffic, hit a nail on the way in, and forget to eat on the way so that your hungry for the appointment. Everything we consider random in life is really normal, and every time we see things go as planned, THAT'S RANDOM.

Why stop . . . you hate it so much.

The word hate is a fairly strong word. I hate that, I hate them, and I hate it when I do that. What is it with hate that draws us in? Why do we hate something and yet we continue to do it? I will do things that I know I hate, and yet I do them anyway. I see others continue to associate with people they hate, they don't like, and yet they continue to be around them. We like to burn ourselves on the oven, then after seeing it hurts, we touch it again. We do something we know we are going to hate the next day, and then after thinking about it we do it anyway. The human race is a strange breed. We're drawn to the things we don't like.

There's no fair in Life

Just as there's no I in team, there's no fair in life. Life's not fair. Not because life can't be near fair, but because people don't want it to be fair. Individuals want things to benefit their side more than they do for others. Equality, what's that? To make life fair people would have to compromise, but most peoples definition of compromise is to make sure they give the least and get the most. Yes, life's not fair, and why? Because I can see that you won't let it.
